Orkney Senior Repowering Officer
Community Energy Scotland is recruiting for an Orkney Senior Repowering Officer. We are looking to recruit an energetic, well-organised and self-motivated individual to provide technical, community development and project management support to community organisations in Orkney seeking to secure ownership, shared ownership or long-term benefit from renewable energy developments undergoing repowering. Training as required, personal development opportunities, and support will be provided by Community Energy Scotland.
This role is funded by the Scottish Government Island’s Team, Orkney Islands Council and Highlands & Islands enterprise.

- £36,360 per annum (pro rata of 35 hours per week full time)
- Fixed-term appointment initially for 18 months

3x CARES LaunchPad Officer/Assistant Officer
Community Energy Scotland is recruiting three Project Officers or Assistant Project Officers (post assigned dependent on skills and experience, with responsibilities allocated accordingly to the successful candidates) for the post of CARES Community LaunchPad Officer/Assistant Officer. The 3 new officers need to be able to work and travel near to the following host Climate Hubs CES is working with:
- Highlands and Islands, ideally based in or around Inverness.
- Perth and Kinross, ideally based near Perth.
- Dunbartonshire
We are looking to recruit energetic, well-organised and self-motivated individuals to support communities to build their capacity, develop new community energy project ideas and work alongside them to apply for funding and deliver projects. Candidates will be expected to work at least one day per week within agreed climate action hubs. On the days when they are not working at those hubs or visiting community groups the work is suitable for home working or alternative office space or co-working space can be secured if required. Priority will be given to applicants who can start as soon as possible.
- £32,300 per annum (pro rata of 35 hours per week full time) for a Project Officer role
- £28,330 per annum (pro rata of 35 hours per week full time) for an Assistant Project Officer role
- Fixed-Term work until 31st March 2027 with possibility of extension subject to confirmation of further project funding.
- Full Time/Part Time Post (we are open to discuss part-time hours from a minimum of 28 hours to full-time at 35 hours per week) with potential for job shares and/or flexible working as per the CES Flexible Working Policy.
- Regular travel to visit communities within your area will be required. Some travel to other areas in Scotland is likely to be required, while keeping our carbon footprint down following Community Energy Scotland’s environmental policy

Graduate Placement Assistant Technical Officer
Community Energy Scotland is recruiting for a Graduate Placement Assistant Technical Officer. We are looking to recruit an energetic, well-organised and self-motivated individual to work as part of our Technical Team delivering the technical aspects of several of CES’s projects. Training as required, personal development opportunities, and support will be provided by Community Energy Scotland.

FEL Community Energy Sports Officer
Community Energy Scotland (CES) are partnering with FEL Scotland to recruit a Community Sports Energy Officer covering Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire. The successful candidate will be based at FEL’s office’s in Stirling, with potential for home working. Together we are looking to recruit an energetic, well-organised and self-motivated individual to work as part of both CES’ Team and FEL’s Team. The Community Sports Energy Officer will be in the enviable position of working day-to-day with FEL, a progressive community group delivering change in it’s community, with the technical training, support and personal development opportunities which Community Energy Scotland provides.
- £25,840 per annum (£32,300 per annum is our Full Time Equivalent)
- Part Time Post of 28 hours per week (full time at CES is 35 hours per week) with potential for job shares and/or flexible working as per the CES Flexible Working Policy.
- Fixed-term appointment to 30th September 2028
- Ideally candidates should be based in Stirling or the surrounding area so they can work from the FEL office a minimum of 2 days a week.
- Employed by Community Energy Scotland and line management through CES. Part of the FEL team and supported by the FEL team.
