State of the Sector and its Significance

Members are now busy completing their data for the this year’s State of the Sector (SotS) report and we are encouraging more to do so as this is one of the most important pieces of research work in our sector.

The credibility of the annual SotS report is firmly established politically and in the wider industry, with key policy and decision makers in Scotland and the UK referring to it to help guide their support for Community Energy.

The report’s significance and importance cannot be underestimated for creating awareness and influencing positive changes, however each report is only as good as the data within it. Our sector relies on community groups to make this data as complete as possible, as this drives the Community Energy message further and creates meaningful benefits from decisions based on the evidence they provide.

We are offering a £500 prize draw for all groups completing this year’s survey – there are multiple prizes, so multiple chances to win! Anyone who has already updated their details have already been entered into the draw.

We know how busy community organisations are and how precious their time is, but if your organisation is yet to tell us about its Community Energy updates, plans, challenges or new developments, please ensure you find some time to add your information to this far reaching document.

If this is the first time for your group to contribute to the State of the Sector, please get in touch with us at sots@communityenergy.scot and we’ll help you get set up in no time.

Once your organisation’s details are recorded, they remain in the portal for you to update each year so you don’t need to re-enter repeated information.

And if you’re already registered, access the portal below.
