Jamie Spalding
Head of Development
Jamie coordinates and manages the development of CES’ portfolio of projects and ideas.
As Head of Development, this role allows me to have an impact in every project within CES’ portfolio as well as the ones we are hoping to add. It is an extremely rewarding and challenging role that’s perfect for the variety I thrive on in my workday.
Having originally trained as a primary teacher, I have a passion for getting people outdoors, learning in a contextual way. This has led to me completing a MSc in Outdoor Environmental Education, when I quickly started working in several third sector organisations to develop, deliver and manage a number of projects. These took place in schools and the wider communities, focusing on Behaviour Change principles to encourage more healthy and sustainable lifestyles.
I joined CES because of its history and legacy of community-based action to create a fairer more just energy landscape for its members, who are eager to move away from fossil fuel use and develop targets of their own, in line with the governments, as we transition towards a decarbonised world.
When I’m not thinking about decarbonising the country. Callum (my dog) and myself can usually be found sleeping up a mountain with no paths, or swimming in a loch nobody knows about, or walking in a forest you can’t find unless you know about it!
