Anand Sajeevan
Renewable Energy Advice Officer
Anand supports community organisations across the Forth Valley and Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park region through the Community Energy Empowerment Programme, delivered by FELScotland in partnership with Community Energy Scotland.
Originally from a small village in Kerala, southern India, Anand’s passion for the environment was sparked early on by real-life stories and documentaries showing the impact of human activity on the planet. He got involved in tree planting and river clean-ups from a young age, and over time, realised that environmental awareness and access to solutions vary widely across communities. That understanding continues to drive his commitment to inclusive climate action.
In January 2023, Anand moved to Edinburgh to pursue a master’s degree in Renewable Energy. He began volunteering with the charity Changeworks along with his studies, offering light-touch energy advice to householders, and later joined CEMVOScotland in a community outreach role supporting ethnic minority communities with energy advice and support.
Now at CES, Anand is excited to work directly with community organisations, raising climate awareness, answering renewable energy questions, and helping develop practical solutions for their decarbonisation.
Outside of work, Anand is an amateur indie music producer experimenting with blends of Indian classical music and funky textures. He enjoys outdoor swimming, playing football, and spending time in nature.
One of his long-term dreams is to build a renewable energy-integrated farm in his home village – where sustainable agriculture meets sustainable energy.
